Drug dealers on the Moosomin First Nation are in the band’s crosshairs.

It was announced yesterday that chief and council have decided to provide names of individuals who are known to purchase or sell drugs to the RCMP.

Councillor Elliot Kahpeaysewat says the new strategy still has to be voted on, but he’s confident it will be adopted by the membership.

“It’s pretty much to deter gangs and the drug violence,” Kahpeaysewat says.

The band also wants to cut off monetary payments and housing to drug pushers, as well as making the community into a dry reserve.
