Police Investigate After Man Found Dead In Snow

Police in Prince Albert are investigating, after the body of a 27-year-old man was discovered on River Street East.

S/Sgt. Bill Chow says the body of Justin Ernest Gardiner was found Monday afternoon.

It appears at this juncture that Gardiner may have died of exposure.

Chow says police encounter this type of scene far too often.

“In my years of being here at the police service, unfortunately (we’ve) run about two or three a year. For whatever reason it happens, it happened, but’s it’s an unfortunate situation,” he says.

Chow says it’s not known yet if alcohol was involved.

At this point, the police don’t consider the matter suspicious.
