The Prince Albert Police Service is once again asking for the public’s help in solving the 1991 homicide of Jean LaChance.

September 15, 2026, marks 35 years since LaChance was found dead in a wooded area south of Victoria Hospital. Investigators determined that she was the victim of a homicide.

Police say LaChance was last seen in the 3500 block of 2nd Avenue West at about 2 a.m. on Sept. 15, 1991.

At the time of her death, LaChance was the mother of five children ranging in age from four to 11 years old. Her children are now adults and continue to seek answers about what happened to their mother.

The Prince Albert Police Service’s Historical Crimes and Missing Persons Unit continues to investigate the case and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Police hope that after 35 years, someone may have information that could help bring answers to LaChance’s family and advance the investigation.
