On September 3, 2026, Fond du Lac RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a residence on Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation.
Investigation determined an altercation occurred at the residence.
During the altercation, an individual was assaulted. They were taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.
As a result of investigation, an adult male was arrested at a nearby residence.
Further investigation determined he was also involved in an August 31 incident where an individual was threatened, as well as a separate September 3 incident where an individual received non-life-threatening injuries during an assault.
28-year-old Keifer Mercredi from Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation is charged with: aggravated assault, assault with a weapon(X2) and uttering threats (X2).
He was also charged with breaching a peace bond.
Mercredi has been remanded until his scheduled appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on September 14 (Information #90534751, 90534752, 90590900).
