Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a late-night shooting in Île-à-la-Crosse that sent one man to hospital with serious injuries.

Mounties say officers received a report of a shooting on Ahenakew Boulevard at approximately 11 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Investigators determined a firearm had been discharged, injuring an adult male.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious in nature.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area of Ahenakew Boulevard between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., or who has information about the incident, to contact Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP at 310-RCMP or submit an anonymous tip through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
