The highly anticipated Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa will officially open its doors to the public on Dec. 4, 2026.

Whitecap Dakota Nation leadership, Dakota Dunes Resort, and Indigenous Services Minister Mandy Gull-Masty gathered at the construction site Thursday to announce the opening date for the first thermal spa of its kind in Saskatchewan.

“The opening of Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa—the first of its kind in Saskatchewan—represents another important step in the continued growth of Dakota Dunes Resort as a tourist destination,” Whitecap Dakota Nation Chief Darcy Bear said. “We are proud to create an experience that welcomes visitors to our Nation, creates meaningful economic and employment opportunities, and shares the spirit of Dakota hospitality.”

The facility is backed by a $54-million capital investment from Whitecap Dakota Development Corporation and is expected to generate 165 jobs. Indigenous Services Canada also contributed more than $16 million toward the economic development project.

Designed as a year-round wellness destination, the thermal spa will offer experiences centered on relaxation and connection rooted in Indigenous culture and hospitality.

“Whitecap Dakota Nation continues to show what is possible when a community has a bold vision for its future,” Minister Gull-Masty said, noting the spa will act as a unique tourism draw for the entire region.

The thermal spa joins Dakota Dunes Resort’s existing line of offerings, which includes its golf course, casino, dining, and cultural experiences.
