Onion Lake RCMP arrested and charged one individual after a break and enter and arson on Onion Lake Cree Nation, SK.
On June 27, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Onion Lake RCMP received a report of a break and enter at the high school on Onion Lake Cree Nation. Officers responded, along with Onion Lake Cree Nation Peacekeepers. During a search of the school, officers determined there was a fire in the building. Onion Lake Creen Nation Fire Rescue responded.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Investigation determined the fire was suspicious in nature.
As a result of continued investigation, 22-year-old Romeo Dillon from Onion Lake Cree Nation is charged with:
- one count, mischief over $5,000 – damage to property, Section 430(3), Criminal Code;
- one count, breaking, entering, and committing, Section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, arson – damage to property, Section 434, Criminal Code; and
- one count, theft under $5,000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code.
Romeo Dillon appeared in court in Onion Lake on July 6, 2026 (Information #90573410).
