Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation marked a major milestone with the grand opening of its new Fond du Lac Grocery Store which is their own community-owned and operated store.

The event was celebrated June 15, 2026 in Fond du Lac.

Chief Louis Augier and Council lead the project which is aimed at improving access to quality food and essential supplies while keeping prices fair and sustainable for residents.

The store is also expected to create employment and training opportunities that will support long-term economic growth within the community.

Community members, Elders, youth, and families gathered alongside dignitaries for the opening ceremony, which featured prayers, speeches, and a ribbon-cutting celebration.
