Des Nedhe Group(DNG) Defence and Sweden-based Actagon AB have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening defence and security collaboration between Canada and Sweden.
The agreement was signed during the Eurosatory 2026 defence and security exhibition in Paris, France.
The two organizations say the partnership will explore opportunities in defence, infrastructure, technology, workforce development and investment, with a focus on supporting Canadian priorities such as supply chain resilience and Indigenous economic participation.
“This MOU is about building real capability in Canada with the right partners,” said Sean Willy, president and CEO of Des Nedhe Group. “For Des Nedhe Group Defence, the opportunity is not only to participate in Canada’s defence sector, but also to help build it in a way that strengthens Indigenous ownership, supports Canadian sovereignty, and creates long-term value for First Nations, Saskatchewan, and Canada.”
An initial focus will be on a planned defence manufacturing and innovation campus in Saskatchewan, which is expected to support production, research, testing and workforce training.
“Actagon brings access to Swedish industrial, technology, and investment networks that are highly relevant to Canada’s defence priorities,” said Grant Oliver, president of Des Nedhe Group Defence. “Our focus is on turning that alignment into practical opportunities—strengthening resilient supply chains, supporting workforce development, accelerating innovation, and building Canadian-controlled industrial capacity with meaningful Indigenous participation.”
The agreement aligns with Canada’s defence industrial strategy and broader efforts to expand partnerships with trusted allies.
