The Regina Police Service have launched an investigation after what appear to be human remains were found outside a residence in the city.

The Regina Police Service says officers were called to the 1300 block of Retallack Street on June 9 at about 4:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they located what appeared to be human remains outside a home.

The area was secured and additional resources were brought in, including the Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Police say the death is being treated as suspicious, but at this early stage, no further details are being released.

Investigators also say the case is not connected to the ongoing investigation into a missing 35-year-old woman.
