The La Ronge Ice Wolves added several promising young players to the organization during the 2026 SJHL Draft as the club continues its rebuild under new Head Coach Taylor Harnett and General Manager Bob Beatty.
Holding the first overall selection in the 2011-born draft, the Ice Wolves chose Meadow Lake forward Kacy Turberfield, who spent last season with the Battlefords AAA Stars.
La Ronge followed that up by selecting Lachlan Vandall third overall before adding Maguire Hendry in the second round.
The club also made significant additions in the 2010-born draft, selecting Warman forward Arlo Barclay with the first overall pick. Barclay played last season with the Notre Dame Hounds U18 AAA program.
La Ronge rounded out its 2010-born selections by drafting Calder Harris seventh overall, Rhett Franklin 37th overall, Gavin Steeves 42nd overall and Robbie Harrison 54th overall.
In addition to its draft picks, the organization also protected local prospect James Cook, a 2011-born player and member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
The eight-player draft class represents another important step in the Ice Wolves’ efforts to build a competitive roster for the future after a difficult 2025-26 SJHL season.
