Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit is asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.
Police say 19-year-old Trent Thomas John Bird is wanted on a charge of manslaughter with a firearm following the death of 24-year-old Steven Beatty of Timber Bay.
The charge was laid on June 2nd after investigators determined Beatty’s death was a homicide. RCMP were called to a residence on Montreal Lake Cree Nation early on June 1st after receiving a report of an injured man. Beatty was later declared deceased at the scene.
Bird is described as being approximately five-foot-eight and 110 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a tattoo on his right calf featuring “420,” a rocket ship and a star. (He is pictured above. Photo provided)
Investigators say Bird is known to travel to the Prince Albert area, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
RCMP are warning the public not to approach him and are asking anyone who sees Bird or has information about his whereabouts to contact police immediately.
The homicide investigation remains ongoing.
