The search for Moise Sewap has come to a tragic end after he was located deceased, shared in a media release by Creighton RCMP.

Police stated that, based on the preliminary investigation, his death is not believed to be suspicious in nature.

The Creighton RCMP expressed gratitude to the many organizations and individuals who assisted in the search efforts, including Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, community volunteers, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, the Denare Beach Fire Department, and Conservation Officers with Provincial Protective Services.

RCMP also thanked the media and members of the public for helping share information during the search.

Officials are now respectfully asking people to remove Moise Sewap’s image from circulation, including from social media platforms, out of consideration for his family and loved ones.

The community continues to mourn the loss as condolences pour in for Moise’s family and friends.
