La Ronge RCMP are working to locate a male involved in an attempted robbery.

On May 7, 2026 at approximately 4:00 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of an attempted robbery with a firearm.

Officers responded. Investigation determined an unknown male approached a teenager, who was parked in a truck outside a residence on Studer Street in La Ronge. The male pointed a firearm at the teenager and demanded to be given the truck. The firearm was not discharged. An altercation occurred between the male and the teenager. During the altercation, the male was disarmed and later fled from the area on foot. The teenager did not report any physical injuries to police.

At the scene of the incident, La Ronge RCMP recovered a firearm. Officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect; at this time, he has not been located.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall. At the time of the incident, the male was seen wearing black sweatpants and a grey hoodie. He is also believed to be a teenager.

La Ronge RCMP are asking anyone who lives in the Studer Street area to check their home security cameras and doorbell cameras. If your device captured images or suspicious activity on the afternoon of May 7, please report it to police.
