Saskatchewan’s Court of Appeal has decided to lower the manslaughter sentence for a former Mountie who shot and killed Braden Herman.

Bernie Herman was originally sentenced to 11-years in prison for killing 26-year-old Braden Herman in Prince Albert.

The Appeal Court dismissed the defense appeals of the conviction and sentence, but instead decided to reduce the prison term to eight years, with about 10 months’ credit for time in custody.
