One person is dead following an early morning house fire in Prince Albert.

At approximately 7:42 a.m. on April 8, 2026, the Prince Albert Police Service and the Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a residence in the 100 block of 18th Street East.

Upon arrival, fire crews extinguished the flames and conducted a search of the residence, where a victim was located inside.

The individual was removed from the home and treated at scene by Parkland Ambulance personnel. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say the scene has since been released, and all road restrictions in the area have been lifted.

The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit, along with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, are continuing the investigation.
