Saskatchewan First Nations Spelling Bee is Back for their tenth year, with their largest group of youth yet.

MBC had a chance to talk with Lillian Denton, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)at Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), about this year event.

Annually, the Bee is open to Status First Nations students who are between the ages of 6 and 14.

There are 3 age groups, which include:

– Primary: Ages 6–8
– Junior: Ages 9–11
– Intermediate: Ages 12–14

1st place winners in from each of the categories will advance to the Championship Finals that are set to take place in Toronto, Ontario, happening in May 2026.

The Saskatchewan First Nations Spelling Bee is open to public to quietly cheer at Tommy Douglas Collegiate.
