Nipawin RCMP are investigating the deaths of two deceased individuals at a residence in Love, SK.

They have been identified as a 77-year-old female and an 81-year-old male.

The deceased male and female were members of the same family.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit is taking the lead on the investigation with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

As a result of initial investigation, it is believed the 77-year-old female died as a result of homicide and the 81-year-old male died as a result of self-inflicted injuries.

The Homicide Investigation Unit is investigating.

Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence in Love, SK for an undetermined amount of time.

The Homicide Investigation Unit, formerly known as the Major Crimes Unit, is part of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Branch.

The Homicide Investigation Unit investigates homicides, suspicious deaths, missing persons where foul play is suspected or likely, explosions believed to be of a criminal nature involving death or injury, and other incidents, as directed.
