Prince Albert RCMP are looking for two suspects; a male and female as part of a vehicle theft investigation in the Birch Hills area.
The event took place on February 7, 2026, a report of a suspicious truck on Fenton Ferry Road was made to the authorities.
Around 4:00 p.m., Melfort RCMP located a truck matching the suspicious vehicle’s description in Birch Hills and officers attempted a traffic stop but the truck did not stop for police; it fled heading north on Highway #3.
Shortly after, Prince Albert RCMP observed a truck matching the suspicious vehicle’s description pass them at a high rate of speed on Highway #3.
The truck then stopped in the middle of the highway, blocking an oncoming SUV and as officers were approaching the scene in their police vehicle, a male and a female got out of the truck and forcefully removed the driver of the SUV.
The male and female then got into the SUV and fled at a high rate of speed, heading south towards Birch Hills on Highway #3.
The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
On February 8, the stolen SUV was located abandoned near Macdowall and the SUV was recovered by Prince Albert RCMP.
Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate and are asking the public for their assistance.
