RCMP issued 134 tickets and 335 warnings during a traffic initiative in northern Saskatchewan.

From January 30 to February 1, RCMP from across the province conducted check stops on roadways around La Ronge, Stanley Mission, Grandmother’s Bay, and Missinipe.

During the Check Stops, the RCMP says they were looking for unsafe driving behaviours including drug and alcohol impairment.

While several tickets were issued, one person was charged with impaired driving and nine people received roadside suspensions.

The RCMP did say one vehicle fled from police and that matter is still under investigation.
