Proceeds from Saskatchewan Roughriders Indigenous logo merchandise will be used for student scholarships at the First Nations University of Canada.
This week, the Riders announced a one time funding of $60,000 to the university for students entering their first year.
The logo was designed by Chris Chipak of Red Pheasant Cree Nation.
The Roughriders say the money comes from the 2024 sales of merchandise featuring the logo.
The team says the 2025 sales are still being processed.
According to a representative from the Riders the merchandise “flew off the shelves.”
