Broadview RCMP is investigating the sudden death of a pre-teen boy found deceased outside on Ochapowace First Nation on the evening of December 20, 2025.
Police say the boy left a residence on foot around 5:00 p.m. to go to another home in the community and was discovered several hundred metres away just before 8:00 p.m.
Following an initial investigation and consultation with RCMP Major Crimes, the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
An autopsy by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
RCMP noted they cannot confirm whether factors such as animals, weather, or other elements played a role and are asking the public to refrain from vigilante actions toward animals.
No identifying details have been released.
RCMP extended condolences to the boy’s family and the community.
