Saskatchewan RCMP have arrested a wanted man and seized several weapons following a search of a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

On November 12, 2025, members of the RCMP’s Prince Albert WEST unit, Prince Albert Detachment, Police Dog Services, and the Critical Incident Response Team attended a home on the First Nation as part of an ongoing investigation.

Officers made verbal call outs, prompting two individuals to exit the residence and both were arrested without incident.

A search of the home led investigators to seize a sawed-off shotgun, rifle ammunition, a firearm magazine, and body armour.

As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Thoren Daniels, from Sturgeon Lake, is charged with unsafe storage of a firearm; possession of a firearm knowing possession was unauthorized; six counts of possessing firearms or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number; possession of a prohibited weapon; and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Daniels was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Prince Albert RCMP for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.

He appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on November 14, 2025.

The investigation remains ongoing.
