On November 9, 2025, Rose Valley RCMP responded to a report of a cabin explosion in the hamlet of Barrier Ford around 12:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, first responders located one adult who was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

No additional victims were located.

The cabin sustained severe damage as a result of the explosion, and a nearby cabin also suffered damage.

Initial investigation suggests that propane may have been a factor in the explosion.

Rose Valley RCMP would like to thank all first responders for their quick and professional work at the scene, and to acknowledge the bravery of community members who stepped in to assist during this emergency.

The investigation remains ongoing.
