On November 4, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., police received a report from a resident requesting assistance at a home on Island Lake First Nation. While officers were en route, they received multiple reports of vehicles driving erratically in the area.
The vehicles were described as a silver Ford F-150 truck, a red Ford Escape SUV, and a grey Ford Edge SUV. Shortly after, officers were notified that the red SUV had been involved in a single-vehicle rollover.
RCMP located the red Ford Escape in a ditch, unoccupied. Investigators later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Goodsoil, Saskatchewan.
At the residence related to the original call, police determined that two vehicles had been driving at high speed near the property when a firearm was discharged from one of the vehicles, striking the house. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Investigators believe the erratic driving and the shooting incident are connected. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information about the incident, who saw the suspect vehicles, or noticed suspicious activity on Island Lake First Nation on the evening of November 4, is asked to contact Loon Lake RCMP at 310-RCMP.
