Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have charged a Snowden man with second-degree murder after officers discovered a deceased woman during a wellness check earlier this week.

At approximately 1:20 p.m. on November 5, 2025, Nipawin RCMP responded to a request for a wellness check at a residence in Snowden, Saskatchewan.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female and secured the scene for further investigation.

The death was deemed suspicious, and a male was arrested at the scene.

Following further investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, 68-year-old Kevin Searcy, of Snowden, was charged with one count of second-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code in connection with the death of 69-year-old Diane Searcy, also of Snowden.

Police say the two were known to each other and were in a relationship.

Kevin Searcy is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (Information #90565914).
