The last of nine people charged in relation to the death of Megan Gallagher will be on Trial this week.

Gallagher was killed in Saskatoon in September 2020 with her body dumped in the South Saskatchewan River near St. Louis.

In the years following 9 people would be charged in relation to her death.

One would be convicted of second-degree murder, two of manslaughter, three for indignity to human remains, and two others had their charges stayed.

Now, the last trial in the matter begins today at the Court of Kings Bench in Saskatoon.

Roderick Sutherland is set for a trial accused of manslaughter.

He was initially charged with first-degree murder, but saw his charged reduced to manslaughter this past summer.

Sutherland’s trial is scheduled for three weeks.
