Muskowekwan First Nation celebrated the opening of a new water-treatment plant over the weekend.

Chief Cynthia Desjarlais says the new plant will be vital for the community’s health for years to come.

The new facility will provide safe and clean drinking water to the entire community.

It uses a network of water distribution lines and truck hauling for rural housing.

Indigenous Services Canada supported this project with nearly 11-million dollars.
