On September 11, 2025, at approximately 11:49 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a dispute at a residence in Hall Lake, SK, involving a wanted man.

Investigation determined the man threatened a group of individuals and pointed a firearm at one of them.

Officers arrested the wanted man at the scene without incident.

As a result of police investigation, 43-year-old Irvine James Merasty, is charged with:

three counts, failure to comply with a release order condition, section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code;
once count, possession of a firearm while prohibited, section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, section 91(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, pointing a firearm, section 87(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, careless use of a firearm, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, assault with a weapon, section 267(a) of the Criminal Code;
one count, uttering threats against a person, section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and
one count, uttering threats to property, section 264.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

These charges are in addition to those for which Irvine James Merasty was already wanted by the La Ronge RCMP in connection with several incidents in the area since July 2024: assault (three counts), uttering threats (three counts), assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement (six counts), possession of weapon, obstructing justice (three counts), failure to attend court or surrender.

Irvine James Merasty appeared as #1 on the Saskatchewan RCMP Wanted Offenders List since April 2025.

He has been remanded into custody until his next appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on September 25, 2025.
