Two people have been arrested and are facing multiple charges, including Attempted Murder, following an investigation into a firearms offence that resulted in an 11 year-old girl being seriously injured.
Officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Edgar Street shortly after 2:00 a.m. on August 11, 2025.
When they arrived, they found an 11-year-old female inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.
Over the past five weeks, investigators have worked diligently to locate and hold the offenders accountable.
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, two suspects were taken into custody and charged in relation to this occurrence.
Twenty year-old Anthony Nahbexie and 18 year-old Devon Nahbexie are jointly charged with: Attempt Murder; Reckless Discharge of a Firearm; Conspiracy to Commit Murder; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle; Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized; and Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000.
In addition to the above charges, 18 year-old Devon Nahbexie is also charged with: 2 x Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order.
Anthony Nahbexie and Devon Nahbexie will make their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, September 17, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
This investigation is ongoing.
