Two people have been arrested after fleeing from a check point on Big Island Cree Nation.
On September 14, 2025, Pierceland RCMP received a report of wanted individuals driving past the security checkpoint on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
Officers responded and located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued to travel west on Highway #55 at a high rate of speed.
For safety reasons, a tire deflation device was set up and the suspect vehicle ran it over, causing all four tires to deflate.
The vehicle came to a stop shortly after.
Following investigation, officers recovered a sawed-off firearm from inside the vehicle and arrested two female occupants.
32-year-old Tamarah Dillon from Onion Lake First Nation and a female youth from Big Island Lake Cree Nation, SK are each charged with:
one count, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
one count, possession of restricted firearm without a license, Section 95(1), Criminal Code;
one count, possession of firearm in motor vehicle, Section 94(1), Criminal Code; and
one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.
Tamarah Dillon is also charged with:
twelve counts, possession of a firearm when prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
one count, possession of a prohibited firearm without license, Section 92(1), Criminal Code.
Tamarah Dillon was also wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in relation to a 2025 investigation.
Tamarah is scheduled to appear in Pierceland Provincial Court on October 7, 2025.
The female youth was also charged with:
one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code;
one count, flight from a peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code; and
one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.
The female youth appeared in Pierceland Provincial Court on September 16, 2025.
We are unable to identify the female youth as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
