The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says rain in the past few days has brought good news to firefighting efforts in the north.

The SPSA says precipiation has significantly improved the firefighting conditions.

The Wolf, Ditch, and Shoe fire, were fires that lead to previous evacuation, but officials say those thre fires are now listed as contained.

5 communities who were on an evacuation order have seen these orders either fully or partially lifted.

Officials say no highways are closed because of wildfire, the provincial fire ban has been lifted, and some firefighting supports from other jurisdictions are being released.

In the meantime, 79 active wildfires continue to burn in the province with 11 listed as not contained.

5 communities continue to be on either a full or partial evacuation.
