One man has been arrested and faces charges following a shooting involving an improvised firearm in downtown Prince Albert Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:20 p.m. on August 12, 2025, police were called to the 400 block of 13th Street East for a reported weapons complaint.
Further information indicated a shooting may have occurred and the suspect fled the scene.
Upon police arrival, officers located a 48-year-old man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
He was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance with what were later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after, officers located a male matching the suspect description in the 100 block of 14th Street East where he was arrested without further incident. A search of the suspect resulted in officers locating and seizing multiple rounds of ammunition and an improvised firearm.
As a result of this investigation, the 28-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.
No information was shared regarding a court date.
