The Saskatoon Police Service is sharing in a post on their Facebook page, around 4:00 a.m. on July 28, 2025, a man in the Middle East called SPS Communications after he saw a live broadcast of an adult guy engaging in an indecent act in a room which had a prepubescent girl present.

The man had been utilizing a randomized internet chat room.

The SPS was contacted via email by the complainant, who swiftly sent information and screenshots to support the investigation.

Two Saskatoon houses were identified as potentially implicated based on the information received, and Patrol members were sent out right away to look into the matter.

After speaking with the residents of both addresses, officers concluded that they were not engaged.

The complainant, who lived about 11,000 kilometres away, had re-matched with the same suspect in the chat room and gathered more evidence to support the inquiry while it was ongoing.

Officers worked quickly and efficiently to establish that the culprit was thought to be in a Regina home.

To guarantee the child victim’s protection, SPS members promptly called the Regina Police Service (RPS) to perform a priority call for service at a Regina home.

When RPS officers arrived at the house, they found a 5-year-old girl and a 51-year-old suspect.

One count of creating child pornography has been brought against him since his arrest.

Officers say his electronic devices were confiscated for additional analysis.

Regardless of national boundaries or local jurisdictions, this is a clear illustration of how one report can make all the difference in saving a criminal victim.

Notify the Canadian Centre for kid Protection or your local police if you think a kid is at risk of sexual exploitation or abuse.

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit Investigation is continuing to investigate.

Victim Services are now involved in supporting the young girl as the investigation continues.
