A community resilience centre has opened at Denare Beach.
The goal of the centre will be to provide support for residents who experienced loss due to the Wolf Fire.
The centre will give residents a space to ask questions, and access supports and needs all in the same space.
Denare Beach leadership called the centre an important step in helping the community rebuild.
“The establishment of a Resilience Centre for Denare Beach is an important step in helping the community start the recovery process,” Denare Beach Mayor Carl Lentowicz said. “We are appreciative of the support being provided by the Government of Saskatchewan and the Recovery Task Team and look forward to working with them to increase the resiliency of our community.”
During Wednesday’s Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency update Public Safety Minister Tim McLeod announced $1.8 million of an announced $20 million in wildfire recovery funding will go directly to the community of Denare Beach.
The centre opens on Thursday at the Denareplex at 1700 Wigwam Drive. It is expected to be open two days a week for the next several weeks.
Residents are encouraged to reach out to local leaders to find the specific days the centre will be open.
