Two elected representatives of the Provincial Metis Council will get their swearing-in ceremony after all.

Wendy Gervais and Sherry McLennan, regional representatives on the PMC, were elected in the MN-S election on May 24.

However, last month they were barred from participating in a swearing-in ceremony for elected leaders of the MN-S last month due to internal conflicts.

McLennan and Gervais have since spoken out against their exclusion.

The two women released a statement late Tuesday night where they say the Metis Nation-Saskatchewan has now offered them a follow-up ceremony.

In their statement, McLennan and Gervais thanked Metis citizens who they say was “at the heart” of getting this swearing-in ceremony to move forward.

At this time however, there is no word on when the ceremony will take place or if the two women will be able to return to the Provincial Metis Council.
