A commemorative stamp has been released for a Metis woman who grew up in the St. Louis area.
Canada Post announced the latest release of their Indigenous Leader series of stamps.
This series includes a stamp of late Metis knowledge Keeper Sophie McDougall.
McDougall was described as someone who shared her extensive knowledge of Metis culture and spent time translating several books into the Michif language.
The Sophie McDougall stamps were released this week.
