Over 5,000 residents from the City of Flin Flon could start returning home next week.

The City announced they are preparing to lift the mandatory evacuation order due to wildfire.

According to officials, most critical services and businesses will be ready to go starting Sunday.

The Mayor and Council are set to meet on Monday where the plan is to officially rescind the mandatory evacuation order effective next Wednesday June 25.

In the meantime, it was also announced Friday morning that the evacuation order for Creighton will also be lifted in the coming days.

According to the Town of Creighton Facebook page, the mandatory evacuation order will be lifted at 6am on Sunday June 22.

Officials warn returning evacuees, however, thjat there will be a lack of medical services and other essential services until the evacuation in Flin Flon is officially lifted.

The fire ban for Creighton will remain in effect.

UPDATE for Denare Beach

Shortly after the Flin Flon and Creighton announcements the Northern Village of Denare Beach also announced the planned return of residents.

Village officials say permanent residents will be able to return hom on Sunday June 22 at 8am while an announcement for seasonal residents is expected in the coming days.

Officlas, however, say the fire is still listed as volatile and remains out of control so they can not guarantee that no further evacuations will happen.

Residents with health conerns are recommended to remain evacuated as there will be limited health care available.
