Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is facing more calls to bring in federal help to battle the northern wildfires.
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations has sent a letter to the premier urging him to reach out for federal assistance.
FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron joined NDP Opposition Leader Carla Beck who sent out a similar letter on Thursday.
“Nearly 15,000 people have already neem dosplaced, entire communities are at-risk, and some homes have been lost forever,” read the letter from Chief Cameron. “As you have acknowledged, this crisis will not end soon, and the days ahead remain unpredictable.”
Both Cameron and Beck are urging the premier to use every resource available.
In the meantime, the provincial government continues to assert their main area of concern is fire-fighting resources, something the federal government is unable to provide.
