The Chief of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation has received the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The medal was presented to Darcy Bear by Saskatchewan Senator David Arnot.
The medal recognizes those who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular community.
“This recognition adds to a remarkable legacy of leadership and service,” read a Facebook post from Whitecap Dakota Government.
Bear has served as Chief at Whitecap for over 30 years.
Other honours he has received include the Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, and the Order of Canada.
