Four individuals are facing drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Air Ronge.
Mounties state that in the early morning hours of April 25, 2025, officers from the Saskatchewan RCMP La Ronge Crime Reduction Team initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Highway #2 in Air Ronge.
Officers located and seized a conducted energy weapon from an occupant in the vehicle and observed bear spray in the vehicle .
Four occupants of the vehicle were then arrested and officers arranged for a child under the age of five in the vehicle to be safely picked up by a family member.
RCMP say that during subsequent searches of the individuals arrested and the vehicle, officers located and seized a prohibited firearm, 125 grams of crack cocaine, 14.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11.4 grams of a substance believed to be a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and additional drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Two adult males and two adult females are facing multiple charges.
Aaron McKenzie, a 23-year-old male; Darcel Fourstar, a 36-year-old male; Bridget Starblanket, a 23-year-old female; and Kamika Riese, a 26-year-old female, all from La Ronge, are each charged with:
- three counts, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
- two counts, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code; and
- one count, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, Section 94(1), Criminal Code.
Aaron McKenzie faces an additional one count, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code; one count, carry a concealed weapon, Section 90(1), Criminal Code; and one count, possession of a prohibited weapon, Section 91(2), Criminal Code.
Bridget Starblanket faces an additional one count, possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code; and two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code.
Kamika Riese faces an additional one count, possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.
The four individuals appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on April 28, 2025.
