The RCMP have made more arrests in connection to a huge drug bust late last week.

Eight residents of Kerrobert and Kindersley were arrested following a raid in Kerrobert earlier today.

As well, Mounties seized just over six pounds of cannabis marijuana.

During last week’s operation, several police agencies executed 10 search warrants and arrested 55 people from 17 communities in southern and central Saskatchewan — including Saskatoon, Prince Albert and the White Bear, Keeseekoose, Kahkewistahaw, Gordon and Cote reserves.

A total of 172 criminal charges were laid.

The searches resulted in the seizure of approximately three kilograms of cocaine and over 2,000 ecstasy tablets.

The RCMP say it was the culmination of a large and detailed investigation that occurred over a four-month period involving street-level and mid-level drug transactions.

The Mounties say other specific drugs involved in the operation were methamphetamine, psylocybin, hash oil, morphine and dilaudid.
