More charges have been laid against a 20-year-old man accused of causing the fatal two-vehicle collision south of La Ronge last Thursday.
John Riley Sanderson has been charged with impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm, failing to comply with an undertaking, and driving without a valid driver’s licence.
The incident occurred at about 6:25 Thursday evening on Highway 2, about 22 kilometres south of La Ronge.
According to the RCMP, the car allegedly driven by Sanderson was heading north when it hit the back of a truck travelling in the same direction — causing the two passengers to be ejected from the vehicle.
One of them, a 24-year-old La Ronge woman, died at the scene.
RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Carole Raymond says Sanderson is now back in La Ronge after making a court appearance yesterday.
Sanderson will be back in court August 11th in La Ronge.
