The Central Urban Metis Federation is unveiling a new building today.

The organization has opened a new community resource centre in Saskatoon with the help of the federal government.

Ottawa granted the group $230,000 under its federal homelessness strategy in order to help CUMFI centralize its services.

Officials with CUMFI say the centre will provide a safe environment for their clients.

The group also believes the new facility will increase the number of people using its services to nearly 13,700 people annually.

The organization offers emergency, transitional and supportive housing, as well as health counselling and referral services to Aboriginal families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Saskatoon.
