Three men convicted in connection with what has been called the largest marijuana grow operation in Saskatchewan’s history were sentenced today.
Lawrence Hubert Agecoutay was sentenced to six years in prison, while Chester Fernand Girard and Robert Stanley Agecoutay received prison sentences of five-and-a-half years and three-and-a-half years, respectively.
They were previously convicted on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and production of marijuana.
The case gained even more publicity when Lawrence Agecoutay told court that the creator had told him to grow the drugs on the Pasqua First Nation in order to fight diabetes and cancer.
