Knight Liver Transplant Said To Be A Success

Everything looks good for a Muskoday man who just received a new liver, according to one of his brothers.

Harvey Knight says his brother, Vernon, is still recovering from the 12-hour surgery which took place yesterday in Edmonton.

He was flown there by air ambulance Sunday night, after word came that a suitable donor had been found.

Vernon had been waiting for the operation for the last year-and-a-half.

Harvey says his brother will spend three weeks in intensive care, and another two additional weeks in recovery.

He says, during that time, the doctors should determine whether or not his body will accept the new organ.

Harvey says the family is grateful for the prayers and support it has received.

Members of the Knight family are well known in the Aboriginal music industry.
