A 19-year-old man from La Loche is facing child pornography charges after an investigation from Saskatchewan’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
The investigation was in relation to possession and making available child pornography on a popular social media application.
Police say as a part of their investigation they conducted a search of a home in La Loche this past Thursday, January 13 where they believed the offences were occurring.
Several electronic devices were seized for further forensic analysis and as a result 19-year-old Deondre Piche, of La Loche, has been arrested.
Piche has been charged with possession of child pornography and making available child pornography.
Police say he was released from custody after a court appearance in La Loche with several conditions.
The Saskatchewan ICE unit is made up of several investigators from police services across the province.
