Five northern residents graduated from the province’s social housing management program yesterday.

Tara Laliberte, Nathan Favel, Neil Natomagan, Tanya Flett and Carrie LeClaire-Nivon will fill positions at housing authorities throughout Northern Saskatchewan.

Three of the five graduates will take on existing positions as tenant relations officers in Buffalo Narrows, Beauval and Cumberland House.

The two others will fill new positions that are being created in Ile-a-la-Crosse and Creighton.

Government spokesman Fred Wolch says training northern people as property managers is the best way to meet the housing needs of residents in their communities.

The social housing management course is a 2-year program that includes classroom and applied study. Seven northerners graduated from the program in December 2001.
