Northlands College is celebrating a milestone this month.
The school, which has locations throughout northern Saskatchewan, has been up and running for 20 years.
CEO Bill McLaughlin has seen the college grow by leaps and bounds, and he doesn’t expect it to slow any time soon because of demand for trained workers in the oil and mining sectors.
McLaughlin feels the school’s annual enrolment of between 2,000 and 2,500 students is significant when you consider the entire population of the North is about 35,000 people.
He says most northerners have graced the steps of Northlands College at some point in their lives.
Events are being planned to commemorate the occasion, and will include an inter-school celebration set for late spring.
