FSIN Encourages Home Ownership Program

The FSIN’s Home Ownership Project Manager is encouraging all bands across Saskatchewan to develop home ownership programs.

Kevin McLeod organized and spoke today at a conference about the benefits of owning your own home.

McLeod says the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is one of the only bands with a successful home ownership program.

He says the Onion Lake First Nation is close, and about 12 others are in the development stages.

Speakers also include representatives from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, as well as various banks.
